BST 00:30 Cincinnati vs Nashville
Mounting a stunning comeback away at the Red Bulls earlier in the week as they snatched a 2-1 victory, Cincinnati have only continued on a remarkable MLS romp this season. Holding a commanding eight-point buffer at the top of the Eastern Conference standings, Pat Noonan’s men should be smelling the chance to widen their buffer over the chasing pack here. Suffering just a single loss from any of their last 18 straight domestic appearances across all competit…
Mario Gotze looks set for a Bundesliga second coming after being given permission to miss PSV s first training session under new boss Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The 30-year-old former Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich attacker has been strongly linked with a move to Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt.
Serie A champions Milan were also recently credited with an interest in Gotze, but reports in Germany on Monday indicated a move to Frankfurt was close to completion.
Sport1 said Gotze, who joined PSV in 2020 and has two years left on his contract, has a clause allowing him to leave for €4million and that an agreement with Eintracht has been broadly agreed.
PSV confirmed Gotze s absence from training, saying that he had been given the space …
Market: Fulham win
Odds: 7/10 @
Looking to extend on their EFL Cup adventure on Wednesday night, Fulham will welcome Championship strugglers Norwich to Craven Cottage.
Starting with the hosts, shocking many as they clinched a top-half finish on their Premier League return last season, Fulham have their sights set on mounting another top-10 charge this time around. Putting in a gritty performance away at London rivals Crystal Palace over the weekend as they claimed a 0-0 stalemate, Marco Silva’s men have once again impressed since opening up the 2023/24 campaign. Marking their return from September’s international break with a 1-0 win at home against Luton, the one-time Everton boss has seen his side suffer just a single defeat from any of their previous five…
Harry Kane says the arrivals of Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez in the Premier League will drive him to improve in an enticing Golden Boot race.
Kane has won three Golden Boot awards in the English top flight – in 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2020-21 – and managed 17 goals this season as Tottenham qualified for the Champions League.
Spurs team-mate Son Heung-min shared the accolade for the most Premier League goals with Liverpool s Mohamed Salah this season, the pair scoring 23 goals each.
Jurgen Klopp looks set to add more firepower to his attack at Anfield, with Nunez close to joining Liverpool for an initial fee of £64million (€75m) from Benfica.
Nunez has scored 48 goals in 85 games for Benfica in all competitions and averaged 1.2 goals every 90 mi…
Diego Simeone said Atletico Madrid always find new ways to excite him as the Colchoneros boss savoured the team s dramatic progress to the Champions League last 16.
Atletico prevailed in Tuesday s do-or-die battle away to Porto on matchday six, defeating the Portuguese hosts 3-1 to book their spot in the knockout phase.
Simeone s Atletico required a victory and hoped Milan failed to beat Liverpool elsewhere in Group B, and the stars aligned for the stuttering LaLiga champions.
Antoine Griezmann, Angel Correa and Rodrigo de Paul scored to earn Atletico victory in a match that saw three players sent off – Yannick Carrasco received his marching orders, while Porto duo Wendell and Marchesin were also dismissed amid chaotic scenes as three goals were scored after th…

BST 13:00 West Ham vs Everton
Watching their history-making European run come to an abrupt end away in Greece on Thursday evening, West Ham do have the feel of a squad seeking a recent boost. Eventually getting hit with a 2-1 loss against Olympiacos, David Moyes’ men have now suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time since opening up the 2023/24 campaign. Marking their return from October’s international break with a nightmare performance last weekend…
Pep Guardiola has claimed Manchester City could be “in trouble” following John Stones’ latest injury setback.
The treble winners are awaiting assessments of the England defender after he was forced off with a knock in Tuesday’s 3-0 Champions League stroll against Young Boys.
Stones only returned to action in October after a two-month lay-off with hamstring and hip problems.
Manager Guardiola said he feared the 29-year-old could be out “for a while” with the muscular problem and described the blow as “deep bad news”.
Stones has been revelatory for City playing in a hybrid defence-midfield role and Guardiola feels he complements central anchor Rodri perfectly.
Much was made of the fact Rodri was suspended when City lost three success…
Former FIFA president Sepp Blatter and ex-UEFA boss Michel Platini will go on trial facing corruption charges in June, Switzerland s Federal Criminal Court (FCC) has confirmed.
The pair were last year charged with fraud and other offences by Swiss authorities relating to a payment made in 2011.
Switzerland s attorney general s office (OAG) published an indictment following an investigation that began in 2015.
Both men are accused of unlawfully arranging a payment of CHF2million from FIFA to Michel Platini , the OAG said at the time.
The date for the trial to start has now been set for June 8, with proceedings set to last until June 22.
The case centres on a payment made by FIFA to Platini in 2011, authorised by Blatter, which the OAG alleges was …
Juventus fail to give Chiellini the send-off he deserves as Inter end Coppa Italia drought with thri
In the context of a generally disappointing season for Juventus, securing one last trophy for a club great before he begins a new chapter would ve at least provided one reason to look back on 2021-22 with a degree of positivity.
It remains to be seen exactly what happens next for Giorgio Chiellini. After all, he suggested on Tuesday that he might not have even been playing football at all this season were it not for Italy s Euro 2020 success.
But remaining at Juventus has become increasingly unlikely over the past few weeks, with a move to MLS – rather than retirement – strongly mooted despite him being contracted to Juve until next June.
In Tuesday s pre-match news conference ahead of the Coppa Italia final, Chiellini – perhaps as you d expect – at least…
Giorgio Chiellini says his love affair with Juventus will never come to an end, but admits he is unsure on his next steps after confirming his international retirement.
The Italy captain announced that June s Finalissima encounter with Argentina at Wembley will be his last game for the Azzurri, a year on from success at Euro 2020.
The veteran centre-back oversaw a second successive failure by the national team to qualify for the World Cup earlier this year, ensuring their absence at Qatar 2022.
While his future on the global stage will come to a close, Chiellini says he will take time to consider his club career – but added he will always carry a torch for the Bianconeri.
My love affair with Juventus is not ending, he stated after Juventus win ove…
