Serie A 2018-19: Can Napoli, Roma, Inter or AC Milan overhaul Juventus?

When Cristiano Ronaldo touched down in Turin, it sparked pandemonium in northern Italy, but drew a collective gasp from Juventus rivals.

Already enjoying a stranglehold on Italian football, the seven-time reigning Serie A champions had just signed one of the all-time greats from Real Madrid.

The addition of Ronaldo to a squad overflowing with quality – plus the arrivals of Emre Can, Joao Cancelo, Mattia Perin and the return of Leonardo Bonucci – has Juve as favourites yet again to claim an eighth successive Scudetto, though the Bianconeri s transfer business also has Massimiliano Allegri primed to deliver a coveted European crown.

Juve have only won two Champions League titles having lost five finals since 1996, so Ronaldo s arrival has the club fighting on a…

06-03-2010 Arsenal vs Burnley

Arsenal go into this game knowing that a continuation of their current ifne form could carry them even closer to the precipice of the Premier League, whereas Burnley will look to halt what appears to be an alarming slide towards the foot of the table.

Arsene Wenger is never one to talk down the ability of his team, but his relative silence on their credentials this season would appear to suggest he is happy for his players to do the talking on the field. After last weeks win over Stoke City, This Arsenal team will want to show that their skill can outshine the crude play of other teams, after Aaron Ramsey was scythed down by Ryan Shawcross last week. The young midfielder will be out for the rest of the season with a broken leg and his colleagues will be keen to show that whatev…

Prediction: Porto vs Manchester United

Best Odds: 3/5

Bookmaker:

Desperately seeking a crucial boost on Thursday night, Manchester United will travel over to Portugal when they meet Porto.

Porto

Starting with the hosts, while Porto might have been left frustrated last week as they opened their Europa League adventure with an action-packed 3-2 defeat away at Norwegian outfit Bodo-Glimt, the Dragons claimed an immediate response last weekend. Eventually storming their way to a routine 4-0 romp against Arouca, Vitor Bruno’s men have continued on a domestic romp since opening up the new campaign. Making a statement on September 21st as they secured a 3-0 victory away at Guimaraes, Porto have won six of their first seven Primeira Liga appearances. Smelling the chance to pick up a heavyweight European s…

Ballon d´Or 2019: Barcelona forward Griezmann falls 15 places from 2018

Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann has been voted 18th in the final list for the 2019 Ballon d Or, a fall of 15 places from last year.

Griezmann finished behind only Luka Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo 12 months ago after winning the World Cup with France and impressing for Atletico Madrid at club level.

However, an underwhelming end to his Atletico career and a tough start to life at Barcelona who he joined in a €120million deal in July has seen him drop down the list.

It marks the second time the 28-year-old has slipped from third to 18th, having done likewise in 2017.

The s delegation had just arrived with Lionel Messi, and

On this day in 2012: Joey Barton stripped of captaincy by QPR

Joey Barton was stripped of the QPR captaincy on this day in 2012.

The midfielder was sent off during Manchester City’s dramatic final-day 3-2 win over QPR in May – which saw them win the title with Sergio Aguero’s last-gasp goal.

He was dismissed by referee Mike Dean after elbowing Carlos Tevez and, as he left the pitch, Barton kicked Sergio Aguero before aiming a headbutt at Vincent Kompany.

He was fined six weeks’ wages, on top of a £75,000 fine from the Football Association and was given a 12-match ban from the FA.

Barton said: “My behaviour was wrong and I accept the punishment that has been imposed upon me as a result. I apologise to the manager, my team-mates and of course the QPR fans for my actions. I also apologise to the Manchester C…

Browns vs Bengals Week 9 Picks and Predictions: Burrow & Co. Will Shred Cleveland Secondary

The Cleveland Browns visit the Cincinnati Bengals for an AFC North showdown that had a lot more of a shine to it this time a week ago.

The Bengals are a half-game out of first place in the division but are coming off a shocking collapse to one of the NFL’s worst teams, although NFL betting lines still have the kitties as 2.5-point home chalk against a Browns team that fell flat on its face last week and is at the bottom of the divisional standings.

Here are our best free NFL picks and predictions for Browns vs. Bengals on Sunday, November 7.

Buccaneers vs Cowboys Sunday Night Football Picks and Predictions: Pollard has Potential Through the Air

The first NFL Sunday of the season comes to a close when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the Dallas Cowboys under the prime-time lights.

The Bucs have had a bumpy summer, with the in-and-out status of Tom Brady and a slew of injuries to the crew tasked with keeping the veteran QB clean. On top of those ailments to the O-line, receiver Chris Godwin is a game-time decision for the season opener.

In the same vein, Dallas also lost bodies on the offensive line this summer and the Cowboys are thin at wide receiver, leaving this offense to lean heavily on the run game against one of the best run-stopping units in the land.

It all makes for a tough game to tackle on Sunday Night Football. I break down the point spread, Over/Under total, and give my best N…

Week 1 NFL Trend Report: Can Giants Keep Playing Underdog Spoiler?

Welcome to the Week 1 NFL Trends Report! This will be a weekly article where I provide you with my favorite trend for every single game that week.

In most cases, these will be playable trends that make sense to apply to your handicap. So, none of this silly “team X has covered in 75% of its non-divisional road games in October when playing at a stadium that has a retractable roof” crap. Trends like that with multiple qualifiers are almost always coincidental and anyone who sees value in them is not a serious person.

Instead, I’ll mainly provide trends that can be backed with stats that the NFL odds market hasn’t shown an overwhelming reaction to. For full transparency, we won’t always have a lights-out trend to consider back…

Russell Wilson Odds and SNF Props: Minnesota Mauled Through the Air

It’s time to turn our eyes onto Sunday Night Football and the Week 11 matchup between the Vikings and Broncos. On the face of it, this isn’t box-office viewing, but it should be an interesting matchup at Mile High between the Joshua Dobbs-led Vikings and a Russell Wilson-led Broncos, who are improving week after week.

Will Russ cook or will the Russ bus get a flat tire? Let’s take a look at the best bet possible on “Mr. Unlimited” in the SNF odds and provide a same-game parlay focused on the Russell Wilson odds as we discuss our free NFL picks for Week 11.

Chase Young Odds and Super Bowl Props: Young, Wild, and Free

Chase Young has vowed that the San Francisco 49ers defense will show an improved effort on Sunday when they take on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 58. Young was a key acquisition this year for the 49ers but was one of a handful of San Francisco defenders who looked to be giving less than 100% on tape in the team’s first two playoff games. The 49ers may be the Super Bowl odds favorites, but it will take a determined effort to slow down the Kansas City offense. I’ll take a look at who might step up for the Niners in my free NFL picks surrounding Chase Young odds.

If you’re looking for more NFL odds coverage surrounding the Big Game, Covers has you covered.
