Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp dismissed speculation Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho could return to the Premier League leaders.
Coutinho has struggled to cement a spot in Barca s starting XI this season, having only arrived from Liverpool in a £142million deal last January.
The Brazil international has been linked with former club Liverpool as well as Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Asked about the rumours, Klopp told reporters: That is something I don t want to talk about. I would not say it is a potential transfer or a likely one.
Nothing to say. Whatever I say would open more stories and there is no story.
Phil is at Barcelona and as I know he fits really well and everything is fine.

One of the perks of the Premier League of old was the fact that it was possible for a relegation-battling side to beat top opposition with a strong defensive display and extremely drilled counterattacking approach, especially at home in front of a booming stadium. That was the way of it when Nottingham Forest welcomed Liverpool at the City Ground on Saturday, with former Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi netting the only goal of the game to being his new club vital three points.
Liverpool resurgence short-lived
Matches like this have been known to happen, so if observed as isolated event, it seems like small worry. But given the season Liverpool have had so far, to lose now to a team lying at the bottom of the table is an extremely painful blow.

Brazilian-born midfielder Marcos Marquinhos is set to make his debut for Bulgaria in the crucial Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro next Saturday.
Marquinhos, the CSKA Sofia playmaker, has been playing in Bulgaria since 2006 but has only just gained his passport with national coach Lothar Mattheus the driving force.
Bulgaria, fourth in Group G behind England, Montenegro and Switzerland, have little hope of qualifying for next year s finals in Poland and Ukraine.
Marquinhos will be the second Brazilian to play for Bulgaria after defender Lucio Wagner, from Rio de Janeiro, played for the country from 2006 to 2009.
Wagner played for Levski Sofia for seven seasons.
Mattheus admitted the Balkan team s fate is no longer in its hands, as it is depe…

Asamoah Gyan is happy for Ghana to be looked upon as underdogs heading into the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The striker was at the centre of a torturous exit in South Africa four years ago, missing a penalty in the dying moments of extra-time with Ghana s quarter-final with Uruguay locked at 1-1.
Gyan showed admirable mental strength to step up and score Ghana s opening spot-kick in the ensuing shootout, but they were ultimately knocked out as Uruguay prevailed 4-2 to progress.
Four years on, Ghana have been drawn in a tough-looking Group G alongside Germany, Portugal and the United States, but the Al Ain forward is relishing being written off.
We have been rated as underdogs in the group, which we are happy about, Ghana told 7msport.com.

If Zinedine Zidane’s departure came as a surprise to Real Madrid fans, then it’s definitely fair to say Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to pack his bags and move to Turin came as a proper shock.
As Los Blancos prepared to head into the new season without two men who were directly responsible for three consecutive Champions League titles in 2016, 2017 and 2018, a question imposed itself:
Who would be the new leader of Real Madrid?
Filling up the void Portuguese superstar left behind was always going to be a difficult challenge and that’s one of the main reasons Real Madrid are given to repeat the last year’s success at the international level.
Real Madrid supporters were quick to divert the attention to the club record signing, Gareth Bale. The Welshman …
